As with Juvéderm™, Restylane® and Perlane® are Hyaluronic acid based fillers that are very safe and do not need allergy testing prior to injection. We use Restylane often for the under eye areas to fill in bags and indents that cause you to look tired. Other areas that we use Restylane in are:
- The area between the eyebrows
- The nasolabial folds
- The area around the mouth
- Lip border definition
- Fuller lips
- Jowl area
How long will the results of a Restylane treatment last?
In general, Restylane lasts between six and nine months. But, depending on where it is injected and if follow up treatment is done in the following 4-6 months it can last 18 months to 2 years.
A little more about treating Under Eye concavities with Restylane.
This area requires very precise and deep injections for best results. In preparation we would like you to follow the pre-treatment instructions given above under “Juvederm”, as well as start taking Arnica Montana orally about 3-4 days prior to the procedure to minimize bruising. We will do our best to prevent bruising, but if it does occur, it will take up to a week or more to subside.
Additionally, we will inject the under eye area with small amounts of Lidocaine with Epinephrine to both anesthetize and decrease bruising prior to injecting Restylane. The anesthetic injection can burn a little initially, but makes the filler injection almost painless!
Perlane is the denser version of Restylane.
We like to use Perlane around the mouth, temples, cheeks and the nasolabial fold areas. Deep nasolabial folds are also well corrected by Radiesse and Juvederm Ultra Plus.
